Meningkatkan Mutu Pendidikan Melalui Pendekatan Community Based Education


Educational institutions as a tool that is able to hone and direct the potential of children
as a provision of life in the community later. The perception developed so far is that the
responsibility for the education process is still borne by educational institutions.
Community involvement in the realization and delivery of education is often ignored. In
fact, in terms of providing education, the community has the right and responsibility to
carry out community-based education based on religious, social, cultural, aspirational,
and community potentials as an embodiment of education from, by and for the
community.
The focus of this study is to examine the role of the community in education including
the participation of individuals, groups, families in the administration and quality control
of educational services. The community can participate as a source, implementer, and
user of educational outcomes. This research uses a qualitative approach, which refers to
phenomenology. Determination of research subjects was chosen based on purposive
sampling. Data collection is done by in-depth interview techniques, observation, and
documentation. The results showed: community participation in improving quality
includes participation in voluntary forms, decision making, thinking and financing
